Good times!

What a weekend! It's been action packed, yet fun and meaningful. I'll attempt to be brief about the last few days...

1. My wife is outta town. She's in PA with her family riding horses and spending time together. There's a good bass fishing pond on the farm there, I doubt Jen will take advantage of her close proximity to it! I don't like it when she's gone...but I am glad she gets the time with her family. It's always good for her to be able to go home.

2. Friday night some of the guys came over. Some self confidence was lost during blistering xbox games (FIFA and Halo 2 to be specific) and JR brought over his deep fryer. We threw everything we could find in that thing. Here's a short list of some of our new favorite, completely unhealthy and somewhat dispicable findings: Deep fried twinkies taste amazing! Take those same twinkies and put Snickers candy chunks in them and you got yourself a weird, yet lovely taste. Chicken wings wrapped in bacon then soaked in BBQ sauce is an unstoppable force.

3. Our weekend in revolution went great. I was glad to see so many High School students on a holiday weekend! We covered part two of our series, "What happens next?", with emphasis on "What happens to my spirit?" A couple of students made decisions for Christ and we did some fun stuff to help make the point. I'm proud of our drama team and our worship team. They bring much to the service and work hard to do it. (By the way, both teams are 99% students...yeah!)

4. I did my best to honor Memorial Day and our soldiers/vets by going to three cookouts/bbq's. It was actually really cool just spending some time with friends and hanging out. It's been a very relaxing day. I am reminded of the soldiers i know personally and veterans that have served and the influence their lives have had on me, much less our country. I love to hear their stories and share what they've learned. A big heart felt thanks to our military for your service. Freedom is never free.
