I went to a Sherwood/Mae/Relient K show on Tuesday at revolution in Fort Lauderdale. It was a great show. The house was packed, the sweat dripped off of the crowd surfers and the smell reflected every bit of the energy.
We had a great spot on the second floor behind the curtain, where we could see the entire stage even when the curtains were closed. The bands were literally just feet away and our view was pretty cool.
I learned a few things. Students will sing loud if they are into it. The crowd was so loud the lead singer's voice was literally drowned out. It made me think about our students worshipping...if only the adoration were that loud for our Savior. I'm not quick to blame them...it doesn't necessarily indicate their spiritual temperature. We must work hard at engaging them and teach them to engage in vocal worship. It's a beautiful thing.
We did some cool street type interviews with people at the show that we will use for our services this weekend. We start our new series, "what happens after you die". I'm pretty stoked.
