Wow. I thought i would take a moment to update from the field here in Mississippi. My faithful Mac (shameless plug) has such amazing wireless reception, I'm weezing free internet from a nearby home. (always put a password on your stuff.)
We're staying in our washed out law office again. It's been updated. We have lights and bunk beds this year. It's cool not sharing one construction light with 4 rooms and sleeping on the floor. It doesn't smell like mold now, it smells more like guys and the locker room. The mold may have been more pleasant.
It's been an eventful day. Last night someone tried to steal the SUV we brought (unsuccessful, we still have it praise God!), one of our girls was bit by a bug and got hives and visited the ER, (doing great now...no biggie) and the RV that came with us spent some time in the mud. But it's all good, we aren't even overlooking God's providence even in those situations.
We are split into 5 teams. The students are amazing. There is such an excitement and pursuit of excellence in what we are doing. I love to hear the stories. I can't wait for you to hear them! It's only 1030 here (we gained an hour) and we're all in our spots just relaxing. Ministry is fully happening and students are beginning already to share their stories and what they are learning.
We worship on the beach each night. It is definitely some of those eternal moments...students worshipping very loudly (led by Berchman Paul) while we stare at the ocean and almost full moon. It's mind blowing. No plasma tv background could ever compare. Our God is so creative.
Lights out is in 24 minutes and there is a crazy card game in the next room. Most of the leaders are near comatose already...we aren't 18 and can't function on four hours sleep and a can of moutain dew anymore. (more like 3 starbucks doubleshots) I'm out for today. I should upload pix tomorrow for you to check out. I would today but i'm too tired.
ps. My oddest job today was changing the starter in an 89 chevy pickup truck. it's all good baby.
